West Palm Beach - Florida
West Palm Beach
If you are looking for a quiet place to recharge, but also have vast opportunities to do something active, West Palm Beach is the way to go!!! Founded in 1894 by Henry Flagler, with now over 120,000 + residents, West Palm Beach (WPB) is one of the three main cities in South Florida.I came to this destination at the end of April which honestly worked out perfectly. Was fortunate enough to get 80 degree weather with no clouds and very minimal rain. This also was bad to have because I couldn't decide what to do with a weeks time! I found WPB to have a good mix of an older and younger crowd - very family friendly.
Was fortunate to be at a place that had pools, but there are a variety of places to hang at the beach. Water was warm and some days you can get some pretty nice waves. If you are looking for a place to hike I would recommend John D. MacArthur. Easy parking, beautiful boardwalk, and gives you the opportunity to kayak/ paddle boarding as well if you are looking for more adventure.
One of the main beaches to go for the day would be Riviera Beach. One of my favorite hacks is to get a Publix sub and some snacks before hand so you don't have to leave your spot once you get there.
Top of the Rox was a really fun bar I definitely recommend. Drinks were top tier, the vibe was immaculate. From the lights, to the pool, and even had swing set chairs at the bar. Music was immaculate, definitely the place to dance!
Treehouse was another gem if you want good food, cocktails and a nice view. They do offer live music, just check in advance who is playing. I'd say it is more of a relaxed vibe than Top of the Rox.
Colony Hotel was a suprised find for a cute ambiance. I was working remote at the time so having this cute little space to hang out in (and have a cocktail after my meeting) was perfect. I'd say it is more for the girly pops. Pink everywhere and the great opportunity for photos. They do have a little restaurant that would be a cute brunch spot, especially if you are craving mimosas. Then after you can go through this picture perfect walk through The Espanade that offers more scenic streets and shopping.
Overall West Palm Beach has a great vibe when it comes to the right mix on vacation of relaxing, adventure, and having a nice night out. I'd say 3-4 days was a good amount of time to stay here. One more recommendation that may be common sense to locals is to get seafood while you are down here! One place my friends and I absolutely adored was U- Tiki Beach Restaurant. The lights, the tiki hut, and being water side, the vibes could not have been better.
